Triumph Over Trials
Life can be more challenging than we expect. Difficulties seem to come one right after the other. Hope can feel out of reach, and deception lurks around every corner. Like us, Peter faced difficult days, too. He faced threats, endured imprisonment, suffered physical harm, and battled false accusations. Yet, through it all, he stood resilient. How? Because he learned the art of persevering, even when the days were dark.
In the midst of those troubling times, Peter knew to anchor his life to Jesus and not be swayed by the changing winds. 1 and 2 Peter are a sort of survival guide on how to live in such challenging days. These two books of the Bible are as relevant today as they were when Peter first wrote them.
Triumph Over Trials: A Study of 1 & 2 Peter is a six-week Bible study to help you learn how to live victoriously in the midst of trials and tribulations. This journal includes daily readings, SOAP verses, devotions to aid in understanding, and reflection questions and encouragement from women around the world. Perfect for personal or small group study, Triumph Over Trials will encourage us in how we can live a victorious life that honors God.
Triumph Over Trials Kids Digital Journal
1 & 2 Peter are letters the Holy Spirit inspired Peter to write to remind the early Christians, and now us, that we are chosen, loved, and called to a purpose. This is true even if we don’t understand it and even if we feel like we’ve failed.
Triumph Over Trials for Kids is a six-week Bible study on 1 & 2 Peter. These letters were written centuries ago, but they still speak to our present-day challenges, struggles, and hopes. They are a reminder of God’s enduring love, the importance of steadfast faith, and the promise of eternal life. This study is ideal for children between five and eleven years old.
Designed as a companion study with Triumph Over Trials: A Study of 1 & 2 Peter, this Love God Greatly study journal contains a six-week reading plan with daily readings and SOAP pages. Also included are daily devotions, weekly activity pages, and parent’s connection pages. This downloadable PDF is formatted for double-sided printing, including space for left-side binding.

Peace in the Waiting
As Peter closes out his second letter, he reminds his beloved readers one more time to wait diligently for the return of Christ that they might be found at peace. As I read through his exhortation, my thoughts can’t help but drift to the many seasons of waiting that...
His Name is Jesus
What is truth? This question was uttered by Pilate, the Roman governor who gave Jesus over to be crucified. Jesus had just claimed that the reason he came into the world was to testify to the truth (John 18:37). This is a very important statement. In this statement,...
Purpose in Trials
One of the reasons I love the Bible is its profound use of words. The way the Bible uses words might look random to the untrained eye, but it is so profound and awe inspiring to students of the Bible. Let us look at the first sentence of verse 9. “…if so, then the...
Know the Word
Have you ever felt overwhelmed with the number of "Christian" voices clamoring for your attention? Do you struggle not knowing who to listen to or what to believe? In today's verses, Peter makes it very clear who the real author of the Bible is...and it's not him....
Loving Reminders
“Therefore, I intend to remind you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well established in the truth that you now have.” As the mom of five young children, with a master’s degree in education, this is one of my all-time favorite statements of...
Give God Full Access
You can have everything you need. Your marriage is falling apart; you can have everything you need. Infertility is breaking your heart; you can have everything you need. Work is crushing your spirit; you can have everything you need. Grief is overwhelming your soul;...
The Grace of God
The grace of God. Understanding what these four words mean can unlock freedom within your soul, your mind, your body, and your spirit. I know this because I have experienced it. Knowing who God truly is has changed everything for me. At the very end of his first...
The Battle is Won
I am not a fan of scary movies. Of the few that I have seen, I spend the entire time anxious because I see danger around every corner, in addition to people making unwise and dangerous choices. I don’t like the feeling of being on high alert, waiting on something that...
Rejoice in Suffering
Though we don’t like to admit it or experience it, suffering is a reality for the Christian. We should not be surprised when it comes. In the midst of facing persecution, Peter offers pastoral care to the first century believers in a truth that is hard to comprehend...
Serve Generously with the Days You Have
The end of all things is near. Let love guide all that you do. What a sobering reminder this statement is that our time on this earth is brief. “Man is like a mere breath; his days are like a passing shadow.” Psalm 144:4 (ESV) “A person’s life is like grass. Like a...
Invitation to Participate
I remember the first time I shared the gospel with someone. I was at a summer project in Florida with my campus ministry where we participated in beach evangelism every Monday. As a nineteen-year-old who wasn’t very far along in her own journey with Jesus, the thought...
Imperishable Beauty
I have just recently turned thirty. While that might not be very old to some, I will admit I feel it came on quite fast. With an increase in age, there are new things that now take up my thoughts. I have recognised I have a keen awareness of which night-time...
An Example to Follow
“It’s not my fault.” This phrase has filled my mind on many occasions when I have felt unfairly accused or criticized. The injustice of the situation overwhelms me with grief, and I want to scream. Sometimes we do everything right, but life goes terribly wrong. Our...
The Full Stature of Christ
One of my teachers always says, “Christianity is practice.” This means the more you do what the Bible says, the more its truth begins to take hold and change your heart so that you can regularly live it out, especially when faced with challenges. The Apostle Peter...
Ingredients of the Christian Faith
As a former elementary educator, I always loved being able to teach my students about plant growth. The children would be so excited to see how with just a few things like a seed, soil, water, and sunlight, a beautiful plant would grow. It felt almost like magic to...
Choosing Love
Some say love is a feeling, but I believe it's a choice. It's choosing to love, even if and when we don't feel like it. I never fully comprehended this kind of love until I walked through divorce. The kind of Christ-like love that chooses not to retaliate or repay...
Home with Christ
Near the end of 2023, I began thinking and praying about what my word of the year for 2024 would be, or the word that I would pray would mark the upcoming year. God brought a simple word to mind: home. Home? God, what do you want me to know about the word home? In...

The Best is Yet to Come
Friend, living in the brokenness and sin of our world is hard. I know there are days when our hearts long for heaven, and our minds need rest. Rest from the "what ifs," rest from the fears, and rest from the unknown. Learning to navigate through seasons of...

Triumph Over Trials for Kids
The best way to teach our children is by example. It is important to show them why we study the Bible, how they can study it themselves, and how they can grow in their own faith and relationship with God. But, we know that as busy moms, it’s hard to juggle individual...
