Life can be more challenging than we expect. Difficulties seem to come one right after the other. Hope can feel out of reach and deception lurks around every corner. Like us, Peter faced difficult days, too. He faced threats, endured imprisonment, suffered physical harm, and battled false accusations. Yet, through it all, he stood resilient. How? Because he learned the art of persevering, even when the days were dark. In the midst of those troubling times, Peter knew to anchor his life to Jesus and not be swayed by the changing winds.
1st and 2nd Peter are a sort of survival guide on how to live in such challenging days. They are as relevant today as they were when Peter first wrote them. In 1st and 2nd Peter, Peter encourages the early Christians, and us, to stand firm in God’s Word. He shares words of wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering hope. Peter shows how we can survive and live a victorious life that honors God, too.
