FAITH OVER PERFECTION JOURNAL

Learning from the lives of Abraham and Isaac

What does God require of us? It’s a question we all struggle with, believing that there must be something for us to do that will win God’s approval, once and for all. Yet all God asks of us is our faith.

He asked Adam and Eve to believe that His commands were good and worth following. He asked Noah to trust Him and build an ark to save his family. And He asked Abraham to leave his home and his family and go to the land God would show him. Faith over Perfection is a six-week Bible study on the lives of Abraham and Isaac.

This Bible study journal includes the entire text of Genesis 12–28. Daily readings explore not only the text of Genesis, but supporting verses and cross-references to provide a robust understanding of what it means to live a life of faith. Perfect for personal or small group study, the Faith over Perfection Bible study journal includes daily Scripture passages, SOAP pages, daily devotions, challenges, reflection questions, and encouragement from women around the world.

100% of your journal purchase goes back into the ministry, helping us translate each study into multiple languages as we reach more women around the world with God’s Word.

The twisted tale of Jacob and Esau is a train wreck and seems more fit for a daytime talk show than Genesis. But here we are. Genesis 28:3-4 recounts Isaac passing the covenant blessing to his youngest son, Jacob, “May the Sovereign God bless you! May he make you...

Truth be told, the account in Genesis breaks my heart. I see a people so loved by God; I see Rebekah whom God had already told what her sons would become; I see Isaac favoring one son; I see Jacob going along with the deceit, and my heart breaks because they decided...

I love reading about the faith of ordinary people. It is inspiring to witness Abraham’s faith on multiple occasions throughout Genesis, because he is a real human being like you and me. One instance takes place in Genesis 24, when Abraham sent his servant to find...

A Legacy of Faith

What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.” Have you ever stopped and thought about how faith is shaped within a family? What’s the story of faith – or lack of faith – in your family and in...

God’s Care for the Righteous

As we continue in our study of Genesis, we see Abraham recognize God’s care for the righteous. God chose to reveal to Abraham His plan to destroy the city of Sodom. God did not need to tell Abraham what He was going to do, but He chose to allow Abraham (and us) to see...
