FRIENDSHIP JOURNAL
The way we conduct ourselves in friendship is a significant witness to God’s love. Loving our friends, bearing one another’s burdens, working through conflict, and sharing life together all display God’s love, faithfulness, and loyalty to His people. Our friendships are a witness to the sacrificial love of Christ toward His people.
Friendship is a six-week Bible study on what it means to live out biblical friendship. This Bible study journal includes Scripture passages for daily reading and reflection. These passages explore our need for community and the great blessing of friendship. Perfect for personal or small group study, the Friendship Bible study journal includes daily Scripture passages, SOAP pages, daily devotions, challenges, reflection questions, and encouragement from women around the world.

Life-Giving Friendship
The beauty of friendship is being able to share the life God gives you, to have other people with you who can help you enjoy and navigate the life you have here on earth. And friends who are fellow believers are even more amazing because we can help each other pursue...
You’ve Got A Faithful Friend
One of my all-time favorite hit songs is “You’ve Got a Friend” by James Taylor. If the ballad comes on the radio, I immediately turn up the dial and start singing along. I love the lyrics, but the truth of those words hasn’t always rung true in my actual life. I wish...
Our Best Friend
We sat around a table at a publishing meeting, the skyline of Nashville shining brightly in the background. After months of planning, dreaming, and preparing, we were ready to decide what our first project would be. We took some time to introduce ourselves to the team...
Breaking Bread Together
When I first graduated from college and moved to a new city, Sundays were my loneliest days. Sitting alone in a church pew and awkwardly lurking around the coffee bar hoping to strike up a conversation with someone was bad enough, but it was after church that I most...
Jesus: Our Ultimate Friend
I grew up in a traditional southern church with old pews and, of course, hymnals in the back of them. One of my favorites as a little girl was “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” not because the lyrics were profound, but because I loved the rich harmonies belted out by...
Jesus, Friend of Sinners
“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” -Luke 5:32 In Luke chapter 5, we witness a stunning scene: Jesus shared a meal with tax collectors, some of the most resented people in His day. When you read the Bible for yourself, specifically the...
Dangerous Friendships
We all want the type of friendships we see in the movies or on TV shows. You know the ones where the girls have been friends since elementary school, they know each other so well they can finish each other’s sentences, and they are fiercely loyal to one another. The...
Red Flags
I don't think there's a more accurate quote regarding friendships as this: "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future." Friendship is a really big deal. We invest in (or are encouraged to pursue) education and training for much in this life, including but...
Uphill Friendships
I hung up the phone, and I felt heavy-hearted. The conversation had taken a negative turn, and now I wished I had just let the call go to voicemail. For many years, this friendship had been a source of joy and encouragement to me, but lately every time I engaged with...
The Need for Forgiveness
My daughter came up to me after her swim lesson last summer bursting with excitement to tell me all about her new friend. They had both worked up the courage to talk a little bit while they waited in the pool for their next instruction, and before you could say “canon...
I’ve Got Your Back
"The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter." -Proverbs 11:13 I remember a very embarrassing incident as a young girl. I can’t even believe I’m about to share it with you here, because it’s embarrassing...
Mirroring His Goodness
Relationships can be hard. The other day, we were having a learning moment in our family when I had to sit one child down and ask them the question, “Would you like it if someone treated and talked to you in the same way you just did to your sibling?” If you’re a...
Support in a Broken World
Why is it so hard to make friends? I’m not talking about Facebook friends or Instagram followers. I’m talking about deep, meaningful, long-lasting connections with women. When we were in kindergarten, our friend was whoever played with us. In college, our friends...
Loyal Friends
Friendship. It’s universally desired but can be surprisingly hard. I’m not talking about the number of friends you have on social media. I’m not even talking about your social group who might end up on a sports team or at a dinner party together. I’m talking about...
Christ-Centered Friendships
"For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another." -Romans 12:4-5 A Christ-centered friendship should be a friendship...
Overcoming Obstacles
Mark 2 contains one of my favorite accounts of what happened during Jesus’ life on earth. I love how these unnamed friends were so bold! They were friends of faith and their faith was in Jesus. Jesus was in Capernaum, considered His home as He regularly returned there...
The Impact of Sin On Friendship
Over the years there have been many TV shows about friendship. From Happy Days, to Friends, from I Love Lucy to Seinfeld, most of us have watched and enjoyed such shows. We love the idea of having a close knit group with whom we can laugh and cry and experience all of...
Challenging, yet Rewarding
Living under God’s calling and guidance is challenging, yet rewarding. It is clear to me that God, the Master Teacher, called me to serve Him through education. As a teacher, I have been privileged to meet so many wonderful people. I have been educating the next...
Created for Friendship
Sometimes, I jokingly say that if it wasn’t for my relationship with God, I would be quite happy to live in a home with large, tall walls around it and never let anyone in. If you haven’t guessed, I am an introvert. I became a Christian when I was in my late teens,...
Friendship Introduction
On the eve of His crucifixion, Jesus spent time praying for all believers. He prayed that those who placed their faith in Him would remain in Him. The love believers have for one another displays the love the Father has for the Son and for the world. God’s love for...

LGG Women – Janine’s Story
It was the summer of 2018. I didn’t realize how burned out I was. My husband had been telling me for a few months that I was not the woman he knew I was. Stress and burnout affected not only my home life, but others as well. I didn't know how to handle it. My...
Announcing Our Next Study!
Have you ever considered how your friendships can be a witness to the gospel? “...that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that you sent me...” (John 17:23) A unified body of Christ is a testimony of the love God has for the world....
