Today’s post is written by Edurne Mencia: a wife and mom from Spain who lives in the jungle of Venezuela. She serves God as a missionary to tribes alongside her husband and three young children. Edurne’s passion is to help women live their lives for God. She started a blog in 2011 for Spanish women, and joined Love God Greatly in 2012. Since then, she has been leading LGG Spanish with a wonderful team of women who work hard to make all LGG resources available to Spanish speaking women.

The Thessalonians are some of my favorite people in the New Testament. The church in Thessalonica was a poor church and under severe persecution, but was a church that was always willing to partner with Paul in ministry.
When Paul writes his second letter to the Thessalonians, he makes a petition:
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you… ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:1
When we go to an Indian village to do ministry we navigate for days and have to make stops along the way. We stop to eat or to sleep in different villages and many of them have a church. In every single stop we are asked to stay and teach them the Bible. And our hearts break because we can’t stay longer and teach them. For the last three years, whenever my husband has gone on a trip, he has packed hundreds of Love God Greatly Bible study reading plans so that he can leave a handful in each village he passes by. I have sent printed LGG study guides, devotional guides, and children’s guides for them to use in their churches. It is not the same as staying and teaching them, but here in the jungle of Venezuela, our LGG materials are some of the very few resources they can get to study the Bible.
Sometimes we forget there are people in the world that have no access to things we take for granted: Bibles, books, study guides, an internet connection, a computer or a cell phone. We are so used to our many devices to read and study God’s Word that we often think everyone else can do the same.
But there are places where you can’t buy a Bible.
There are places where you can’t get any good Christian study. There are places in the world where Christians are few, and places where Christians can’t gather to study God’s Word together.
And Love God Greatly is reaching women in those places.
We have an awesome group of translators who work really, really hard to reach women in their countries; to equip women who will teach other women in their own languages. These ladies want to partner in ministry with Love God Greatly and are willing to spread God’s Word as happened among them.
As you know, this September the LGG leadership team and translators are flying to Dallas for a week-long international training intensive. And for most of us, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to attend a training event and be nurtured, taught, encouraged, and challenged to go on with our labor of spreading God’s Word to all nations.
I am counting the days to meet all the women behind LGG. I can’t wait to talk to them, to laugh with them, to pray with them, and to dream big for God with them. We will plan together, we will build community with the different LGG branches, we will talk about our countries, about our needs, and we will be better prepared to serve God and to serve our women. We will dream how we can reach this world for God – one woman at a time. We’ll pray that the world will be forever changed because we are willing to take a new step of commitment and share with others as happened among us.
God will continue to do His work with or without me…but oh! What a privilege to see Him in action. What a privilege to be on the front lines and partner with our Lord in His powerful work around the world. Let’s praise Him together and be His witnesses to the end of earth!
Content in His service,

Oh My heart with you girl!!! You are amazing and I love your leadership and passion for our women!! Gracias!!!
Thank you so much for the work this team has done in making translations of these studies available to so many parts of the world and in so many languages! I have been a team leader for 12 years for teams serving families in a village called San Francisco in the Yucatan region of Mexico. Last year, we were able to bring the Love God Greatly translation materials to the tiny church of believers in the village. They are thrilled beyond belief to have a method for growing in their relationship with Jesus. They didn’t understand before what it meant to have a daily quiet time with God but now with the help of these wonderful materials, they do! Thanks again.
That is awesome Wendy!! Praise God 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing about your ministry in San Francisco.
Hi Wendy
It is good to hear you are using these materials in the Yucatan where we both minister. I’m thinking it would also be good for Xocenpich. I’ll be in touch with you as to which materials you might recommend. Tu hermana en Cristo, Sandy

Wow! How awesome to hear how God is moving in other countries! I truly enjoy the LLG studies and encouraging emails. So blessed to know they are spread around the world, touching women’s lives and helping them to grow closer to Jesus! I was just praying for God to continue to use me in my little corner of the world here in California. When we all work for His Glory and to share His Word in our own areas, whether small or large, that’s when His Word will spread speedily!! God Bless you all!!
