“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:35, 37-39

The house is still quiet and the sun has yet to peek over the trees to welcome the day. Even in the darkness, You are still here with me.
As I wait for the light Your Word and Your presence fill me, reminding me that no matter what today brings, You are my firm foundation and I am Your redeemed.
In the waiting, Your love pursues me.
Today will surely be filled with both joys and trials: joys that are a taste of Your fullness until we meet face to face, and trials that will no doubt try to whisper fear into my weakest places. The darkness is sneaky like that.
But no longer will I give into fear when it calls my name, because nothing can separate me from You.
Not the extremes of death or life.
Not angels above or rulers beside.
Not what comes today or what will be tomorrow.
Not powers that whisper and tempt and threaten.
Not the highest highs or the lowest lows.
Nothing.
(I’ll repeat it until my heart is convinced.)
No, nothing. Not my past, not today, and not the future that I can’t yet see. Nothing can separate me from the depths of Your great love.
Lord, I feel it. If it were up to me I’d wander.
My mind is too forgetful; my affections are too scattered.
But you, God. There’s no one like You.
You remain.
Your grasp is too strong. Your love too deep. Your outstretched arms too wide. Your sacrifice too great. Your victory too secure.
You make cowards into conquerors, not because of what we’ve done, but because of who You are.
Because of Your great love.

Jesus, for the one who doesn’t feel loved today, for the one who doesn’t feel like she can trust Your love today, would you remind her that You are still with her? That You are for her?
Your love never changes, even in the darkness.

Child of God, have you forgotten that you don’t have to perform to earn God’s love for you? There is nothing you can do that will ever make God love you more than He loves you right now. There is nothing you can do that will ever make God love you less than He loves you right now. His love for you is unconditional, full, and complete. You are His beloved, and nothing can separate you from the love of Christ!
He loves you.
Oh, how He loves you.
And He won’t ever, ever let you go.
So today, breathe in deep, speak this truth to your heart, and watch the Son rise over the darkness.
In what situations are you tempted to question God’s love for you? How can you keep this Romans 8 truth to believers in front of you this week?
At His Feet,

Such sweet words of comfort when fear comes calling: “Nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” As JJesus said from the cross, “It is finished.” Praise our Lord and King and thank you for encouraging women with God’s unconditional love.
