SOAP our new study, Lent, with us today!

It is good to remember God.

He dwells in heaven, almighty and all-powerful. He created the world by His voice. He created mankind as a special and set-apart creation in His image for a relationship with Himself. Even though we have all sinned and rebelled against the One who made us, God in His unexplainable mercy and grace has provided a way for us to dwell forever with Him. This way is Jesus Christ.

It is good to remember Jesus.

He is fully God and fully man. He is God’s one and only Son who came to earth to save us and reveal to us the character of God. He traded glory for shame. He walked the earth with humanity and was tempted in every way. He died a criminal’s death on a cross for the sins of all people for all time. He overcame death and resurrected on the third day. He now sits at the right hand of God, interceding for us. He will return one day for His bride, the Church. He has not left His people alone but has given them a tremendous gift—the gift of His presence, the Holy Spirit.

It is good to remember the Holy Spirit.

He is the Spirit of God. He is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. He dwells in all believers. He comforts us, teaches us, and helps us remember the Word of Christ. He is our Helper, who will be with us forever. He is the Spirit of truth, guiding us into all things true. He is the power that raised Christ from the dead, and this power lives in us as believers. He seals us for the day of redemption when Christ will return to take us to our forever home.

It is good to remember God, lest we forget who made us and what we were made for.

It is good to remember Jesus, lest we forget who saved us and what we were saved from.

It is good to remember the Holy Spirit, lest we forget who is with us and what we can hope for.

Friend, may you be reminded to remember. When the enemy tries to steal you away with apathy or busyness or lies or doubt, tell him who God is, who Jesus is, who the Holy Spirit is. You were made by God, for God. You have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. You are sealed by the Spirit and have a future full of hope and rid of pain.

You have been healed by the touch of Christ. You have been cleansed by the power of the Word of God. You have been restored by God Himself. Let us exist in everlasting praise to God the Father, Christ the Son, and to the Holy Spirit of God. He has saved us. Remember His mercy and His grace. In return, give Him your heart, your love, your life. This is all He wants. This is why He came.

Remember.
