Devotional: Draw Near W2D2

Tuesday

Read – Romans 1:18-21, 1 Timothy 2:3-4

SOAP – Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.

Creation is the invisible made visible. Through creation we see a picture of God’s character: His power, His goodness, His kindness, His creativity, and His love.

Through creation all people, everywhere can clearly understand that there is a superior being, a creator. Paul says that people are without excuse. Creation makes us responsible to respond in worship and submission, but creation does not give enough information for us to experience salvation. It is only through Jesus that we have a complete picture.

Even those who do not yet know Jesus know deep in their hearts that there is a creator. God has revealed Himself clearly in creation. He has sent His Son to pay for our sins. In the same way creation points humanity to God, we can point those who do not know Jesus to Him through what He has created.

Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself in creation and through your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to be Your hands and feet in sharing what Christ has done for us so that more people may come to have salvation through Jesus Christ. Amen.
