An LGG Afrikaans Testimony

The fact that I can read these studies in Afrikaans means so much to me.

It means that I understand what I read so much better.

Lots of Bible Studies are in English, and because English is not my mother tongue, I regularly have to look up a word or two or three in the dictionary to see what it means so that I can grasp and understand the true meaning.

In addition to the benefits of having these studies in my own language, these studies enrich my life so much. I learn a lot about myself, I do introspection, and see where I do wrong. A person is inclined to only notice one thing and miss or lose sight of another aspect – I think specifically about the Jonah study. I have always just looked at Jonah as someone who didn’t want to listen to God, and then he was punished. But for the first time, I realized that I am also a Jonah because I also don’t want to listen to God at times.

The other thing I love is getting the studies via email. That means that I can always go back to a study and read something again. I can remind myself again that I am a woman of God, God notices me, He will never leave me, He sees the tears, the suffering and worries, and yet He cares for me every day! I have learned again to give all my worries to God – He carries my worries better than I could. I have learned again what it means not to worry about tomorrow, it is not promised, and only God’s love is promised for today and every day for the rest of my life. I have learned to just live for today. But above all, I have learned that it doesn’t matter what anybody says or thinks, all that matters is God!
