It is time to suit up, sweet sister.
A war is waging all around us, targeting our minds, families, friends, and futures. And whether we like it or not, we are in it.
This invisible, spiritual war has been talked about from the Old Testament to the New Testament and rages around each of us, all day, every day.
The study we are about to start is an “I’m all in” type of study. We aren’t just going to read Scripture; we will learn how to get suited up with the most beautiful spiritual armor from our loving Father.
The day in which we live is not one that, as Christians, we can live passively. It is time to wisely stand our ground and fight back. As believers in Jesus Christ, we have access to the ultimate armor for our battles: the armor of God.
So fear not.
God has equipped you with all the weapons you need to fight and succeed in your battles.
The armor of God is a metaphor used in the Book of Ephesians to describe the spiritual protection and power available to us as followers of Christ. Over these next six weeks, we will learn how to “put on” and utilize each piece of armor, including the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.
Each piece of armor represents a different aspect of our faith and our relationship with God. We are better equipped to stand firm against the devil’s schemes as we put on each piece of armor.
The line has been drawn. We are not giving away any more of our territory to the enemy.
In this six-week study, we will learn how to suit up, stand our ground, and fight back. We are no longer naive to the devil’s schemes. We know his targets and his goals.
Today we stand on the truth of God’s Word, awake and aware of the battles that rage around us.
Today we choose to stand in the power of God’s truth, suited up in the armor He has given us and engaging in the battles at hand, remembering that God has already won the war.
