The average person considers between 12,000 and 70,000 thoughts in one day, and psychologists estimate that over 70% of what clutters our mind is negative.
Dark thoughts can derail us. Some days, I feel like I am riding a crazy train loaded with the wrong words propelling me down a long, winding track to my destruction. I wear myself out overthinking everything.
I can’t ever do anything right.
I’m unattractive and unappealing.
If people knew the real me, no one would like me.
I will never be good enough.
The worst part of it all is that I can’t hide my horrible thoughts from God. He hears every erratic notion in my noggin. God knows me through and through, and I sometimes wonder why He puts up with me. Shame-filled words pour out of my wounded soul, and I want to put a plug over my mouth to stop them.
I am so thankful God’s thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and His ways are way above my ways. (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is the Mighty One who speaks a word and calls order over the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. (Psalm 50:1) His voice is louder than all other voices, and He speaks peace over His children.
The God of peace is speaking “Peace, be still” over me.
The Word of the Lord is stronger than the lies of the enemy. His Word speaks louder than my insecurities. His Word always proves true and shields those who take refuge in Him. (Psalm 18:30)
I need God’s Word to renew my thinking and anoint me with a Spirit-filled vocabulary. As I let the Word of the Lord wash over me, all my worries and doubts turn into worship.
Are your words out of control? Jump off the crazy train, friend. Align your erratic words and thoughts with Truth.
Quiet your heart and breathe in God’s grace today. You are fiercely loved by your Abba Father, and He is forever speaking life over you. Listen to Him whisper these words:
My unconditional love for you is steadfast and strong. Take refuge from the words of others under my wings. (Psalm 36:7-10)
I formed you as a wonderful creation. I spoke and made you my masterpiece. (Psalm 139:14; Ephesians 2:10)
You are precious in my eyes. I will always honor you and fight for you. (Isaiah 43:4)
I have formulated big plans for you. You are walking toward a favorable future full of hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
You are valuable to me. I can verbally identify every intricate detail about you. (Luke 12:6-7)
You are mine, my child. You bear my name. (Romans 8:16)
You matter, friend. You matter because your Savior spoke louder than death to save you. Jesus is speaking redemption right where you stand today. His unfailing Word of salvation keeps you secure forever.

I hear a lot of those negative voices in my head, too. So grateful for this truth: “your Savior spoke louder than death to save you.” Thanks for speaking positivity over us today, Lyli.
Cultivating a mind at rest. is hard , but I am thankful He is fighting for us.
