My husband and I sat in the theater spellbound as we watched a beautiful movie that displayed the power of God. A young boy had almost drowned, and the doctor’s told his mama there was no hope for a recovery. That woman of faith stood in front of her lifeless son and wailed up to Jesus. In defiance of all medical reasoning, that boy’s heart began to beat. The One Who is the Resurrection and the Life raised that child back up from that bed and breathed life back into his body.

As we drove home that night, I was filled with an unbelievable joy knowing that Jesus has the power to heal. The world will tell you there is no hope for salvation. But, we can bring our loved one who has one foot in the grave and place them at the feet of Jesus.

Jesus can repair our broken marriage and renew intimacy.

Jesus can restore dreams squashed by the rejection of others.

Jesus can flood peace into a home where conflict has created chaos.

Jesus can interrupt the schemes of the enemy and tear down any stronghold.

Our Savior can speak life over any situation. Yet, sometimes, I find I give up too easily and give way to defeat. Instead of pushing past the doubt and fear to bring my needs to Jesus, I tell myself my situation is beyond repair.

I’m so challenged by the faith of the four friends who climbed up on a roof and were relentless in their pursuit to present their friend to Jesus. Their unstoppable spirit challenges me to keep praying, to keep believing, and to never give up.

Sometimes, I make my problems too big, and I have a distorted view of a distant Savior who I think doesn’t always solve my problems. I believe a lie instead of standing on the truth. I focus on the temporary fix to my pain and fail to recognize the greater miracle God has prepared.

The Pharisees in the story knew what the Scriptures said about the Messiah, but their distorted view kept them from receiving salvation. The actions of Jesus make it perfectly clear who He is.

He is the Son of God. He does not merely heal. Physical restoration could help this man walk, but His soul was still dead in sin. Jesus came to do more than heal. God took on flesh and became a man. The Almighty felt our pain. He saw our need, and He laid down His life to do more than just fix our pain. Our Savior came to forgive.

When we look to Jesus and call out to Him in faith, we pass from death to life. Our eternal destiny is forever changed.

Jesus came to save you. He says, “Stand up and walk.” Walk away from sin and death and stand fully forgiven.

Who can save a lost soul? Only Jesus. The world will see how He has changed your life, and they will be filled with awe. He’s done an incredible miracle in you.
