My name is Gail, and I live in Nairobi, Kenya. Before joining Love God Greatly, I struggled with mental illness. There were times that I would relapse every three months. I also had lost hope in reading my Bible. It was difficult for me to remember anything after reading.
During this season, my sister was told about LGG from her friend Sylvia in Uganda. My sister then told me about LGG, and I knew I needed to get involved.
By getting to translate the studies, I also have the chance to read them. It has helped me to remember more of Scripture. I don’t remember everything, but my memory is becoming better and better.
I have also found freedom in my struggles with mental illness. It has been two years and two months since I have relapsed. I know that I’ll never relapse again thanks to the work of God and having His Word settle deeply in my heart and life.
I have regained confidence in God again. I get to read His Word often, which is the greatest gift to my soul.
As we faithfully work to translate the LGG studies in our language of Luo, we are asking God to do an incredible work. We have never shared our translations with others. But that is going to change in 2025. We will share our first study on December 13th.
We are excited and expectant of what the Lord will do. We are asking God to give us boldness to speak to people about our branch and for the Lord to give us favor.
I know that God’s Word has the power to transform and change lives. It has been true in my life, and I want women who speak Luo to experience the same.
