I first saw “Love God Greatly” on Facebook and I really enjoyed the idea of an online community that would give me the opportunity to study the Bible and meet sisters from all over the world. I joined a group led by a woman in South Africa and it was a really nice experience. I needed a study that would give me a starting point in my daily Bible reading, not something that made me feel like I need to brush up on my theology. I was thrilled by the articles and the fact that those who share their experiences on the blog have the courage to make themselves vulnerable. Too often, I feel like I cannot measure up, and too often I see sisters – and others see me – as competition. LGG helped me understand once again that Christ is not just my only hope but all I need to define my identity.
I enjoyed the studies so much that I recommended them to my friends, and I was thrilled to see one of them take on the responsibility to translate the studies and make them available to those who do not speak English. I will continue to pray for this ministry and join in as many studies as I can.
