Unchanging Love

My name is Sarah, and I serve Romanian women worldwide by translating Love God Greatly Bible studies. I had the privilege to grow up in a Christian family and saw my parents practice their faith. My sister had some major health problems when I was young, and I started to question my relationship with God. I did believe in God and that He could work in my life, but I realized that I only spent time with God so I could have an easy life. I learned that a relationship with God is not an “if, then” relationship.

This was the beginning of my struggle with grace. Because I was very diligent in spending time with God in prayer and reading my Bible, it was hard for me to accept that God’s love for me wouldn’t change, regardless of what I did for Him. It took me years to understand that time with God would not always look the same in every season of life.

Now I have found peace and my relationship with Jesus has a new meaning. I enjoy singing worship songs while doing the dishes, listening to sermons through tears while ironing, and listening to devotions as I get myself ready for work. That is why I love the SOAP method we use at Love God Greatly because I have learned how to gain insight from God’s Word no matter my background or understanding.

When I moved to Austria, I found myself in a new season, unsure about how and where to serve God. I connected with Love God Greatly and discovered that I could help translate the Bible studies into my own language of Romanian. I am so thankful for the way God has allowed me to serve Him no matter where I am. And I am so thankful for a wonderful team who works to share God’s Word with women all over the world in their own language.

  1. Gifts of Faith, Teaching (encouragement through teaching) and Mercy, these are the Spiritual Giftings I have learned are mine. Do I sit around, content in figuring them out, or do I do something with them? Do I “hide them under a bushel” or do I “bury them” to be dug up and given back to the Master when He returns? Will He say, ” Well done, good and faithful servant”?.
This is a challenge to all of us to figure out what Giftings we are strongest in and then go and do something about it!!
