The Lord called my family to Myanmar to be missionaries. After we moved there, I quickly learned how difficult the language was, and I doubted my ability to learn it. However, God placed a desire in my heart to reach the women of Myanmar with His Word.
I began leading the Burmese Love God Greatly branch purely by faith. I knew nothing about translating, but I knew God had led me here. So I obeyed, even though I didn’t understand the details.
After two years of ups and downs, I considered giving up. My translation team was only myself and one other woman, and I was still struggling with the language. After spending time with other Love God Greatly branch leaders, I felt like an imposter. Who was I compared to these women of faith? I didn’t even know the language!
I began to pray for a team of women with a passion for God, who cherished God’s Word and saw the vision of Love God Greatly. I left encouraged but still felt inadequate. I knew that to move forward, my team would all need to share this same passion for serving the Lord.
I unexpectedly spent the next month in the hospital with my husband, who was in a life-threatening situation. I poured into God’s Word and pleaded with God for my husband. I was overcome by the support I received from our Love God Greatly team. They not only prayed for my family, but they also came by my side and helped me build a new team. I was no longer alone.
My life has continued to be a rollercoaster of hardships, but the Lord surrounded me with the women for whom I had prayed. I had known most of these women for years but never stepped out and asked them to serve with me. Sometimes we don’t know or understand why God calls us to do certain things, but we can choose to trust and follow Him, no matter what.
