“Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.” –Galatians 6:7–9

We have all faced situations when it’s tempting to call it quits because we aren’t seeing any fruit from the faithful acts of obedience we are sowing in our life. Maybe we start to get tired of waiting, tired of trying, tired of not seeing any results from doing the right things.

I encourage you: don’t stop doing the right things because it feels like obedience isn’t making a difference. Don’t give up when you start to wonder if things will ever change. You may not be seeing the progress you wish you were today, but some things take time. Harvest will always come from seed sown. We really will reap what we sow.

God doesn’t miss a thing. The good or the bad. God doesn’t miss the faithful obedience of His children, just like He also doesn’t miss the unfaithful actions of others that seem to get away with doing wrong.

There is an assured harvest, a promise from God for us if we don’t give up sowing good seeds in faith: seeds of love, grace, obedience, diligence, wise choices, peace, or forgiveness as we sow those things, they will produce life, hope, and victory in our lives. If you’ve been doing the right things, keep at it. Keep building on His faithful promise that if we don’t grow weary in doing good, we will reap in due time.

It’s just a matter of time. Little by little, day by day, we keep sowing into the things of the Spirit. It may not look like much is happening right now, but give it time. Stay faithful. Keep doing what’s right. It won’t be long before you’ll see the seeds of faithfulness produce beautiful fruit in your life, and you will have a story and testimony to share of the faithfulness of God concerning His promises in your life.

Let’s not give up, let’s not grow weary in doing good, and let’s stay the course for that assured victory. Let’s stay the course in faith and hope-filled expectation, believing He is bringing forth a harvest of promise and breakthrough in our lives at just the right time.

God is not withholding good from you; He is deepening something in you in the process of time. He is watching over His Word to perform it in your life. We’ll never come up embarrassed when we follow His ways and live according to His Word. He is a good Father, and He is forever faithful. He is not careless with our lives, nor oblivious to our acts of faithful obedience. He doesn’t miss a thing. He always has His eye on us and His hand on our lives.

Step by step, little by little, even when it feels like you’ve been going nowhere fast, keep doing what is good and right. God is a God of His word. He’s a promise keeper. One day we’ll look back and will be astounded at how His faithful promises have been proven true in our lives. A good harvest will come at the right time—it’s only a matter of time.
