Shame is sneaky. It likes to hide and makes us want to hide and become invisible with it. It holds us back and makes us feel as though we are not enough. It zaps our confidence and likes to remind us of all our short comings.

Whether we like to admit it or not, the power of shame affects all of us. Shame seeks to keep us from living the faith filled life God has planned for each of us. Instead of living out our potential, shame likes to cloak us in regrets, insecurities, and doubts. Shame is nondiscriminatory. It attacks each of us no matter our background, age, or where we’re from.

Enough is enough! It’s time the shame in our lives meets our Shame Breaker.

For these next four weeks we will explore eleven different stories from the Bible and see from Scripture how God combats shame in their lives as well as in our own.

We will see how, with God’s help, Adam and Eve learned to fight off the shame of sin and embrace God’s loving grace. Abraham and Sarah learned to fight the shame of barrenness and trust God to redeem their mistakes. Moses faced the shame of not being enough and trusted God to work in his life, despite his doubts and insecurities. Naomi learned to let go of her shame of past decisions and trust that God had better things ahead. Gideon released the shame of weakness and trusted that he was indeed the man for the job because who God calls, He also equips.

Each of these stories will show us how God is the ultimate Shame Breaker. He was in the past and He continues to do so in our lives today. We don’t have to be slaves to the power of shame in our lives. God can break our cycles of shame through His power. In this study, we will show you how.

Through Shame Breaker we pray God will equip you, encourage you through His Word to fight the temptation to feel shame in your life, and that you will embrace God’s love, forgiveness, and redemption. We pray women will walk away from our Shame Breaker study holding their head a little higher, gaining the confidence to boldly walk forward in faith, and understanding how much God is for them. Friends, together, let us fight back against the power of shame and embrace the freedom we have in and through Christ—our ultimate Shame Breaker! We are so excited to start this powerful study with you!
