“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

When we read Genesis 1:1 we see Elohim in action. The plural of this name of God shows us that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit were present in the very moment of the creation of the world.

In today´s verses, John says the same thing: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  This is one of the most beautiful sentences I´ve ever read. The Word was God. Jesus is God. And still, the Word became flesh. That´s what we celebrate in Christmas.

Jesus was the light and the life. In Him and through Him everything was created. Jesus was born as a baby because He chose to dwell among us and give us the opportunity to be saved. His light shone in our hearts and took the darkness out.
