Introduction to Secure in Christ

The world often tells us that we have to work at or earn the love of others. But Christianity turns this idea upside down. God’s love is not something we can earn nor is it something we can lose. It is a gift of grace that we can experience through faith in Jesus Christ.

This is the foundation of the Christian life and the lens through which we view and interact with those inside and outside of the church. We are safe and secure in Jesus.

The book of Ephesians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the church in the city of Ephesus. His message is one of strengthening and motivation.

Ephesians can be divided into two parts. The first half of the book encourages the believers to know the truth of the gospel of Jesus and to root themselves in the love of God. The second half of the book details how believers are to live in relationship with other believers based on their acceptance, forgiveness, and life found in Christ.

Salvation is a gift of grace through faith. It has the power to change any and all hearts, even those who seem too far gone by the world’s standards. When we trust in Jesus, we trade our old, broken lives for that of a new and holy life empowered by the Holy Spirit. It truly is the great exchange, and it changes everything about us.

When we live with the knowledge that we are already accepted and loved, it frees us from striving and comparison. God calls us to live in the “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” knowing that we are one in Christ and are called to the same mission to make Him known wherever we find ourselves.

If you are in a season of questioning your security in Christ, struggling to understand God’s love, missing out on the joy of living in relationship with other believers, or are just needing encouragement, Ephesians is the place to start.

Join us as we learn what it means to be alive in Christ each day, knowing that no matter what life may throw at you, you are secure in Christ.
