Introduction to Promises of God

It’s hard to trust in a God who keeps His promises when those around us don’t. That’s why a study on the promises of God is so important. We all know the saying, “Promises are made to be broken.” Unfortunately, we’ve all had friends, family members, and loved ones who made promises they were not able to keep. For many of us, our lives have been forever changed by someone not keeping their promise. With each disappointment after disappointment, we begin to feel like no one keeps their promises these days.

But that’s not true.

While others may make promises and break them, God never does. What He promises, He fulfills.

God never breaks His promises to us. Throughout history, God has demonstrated that He is supremely trustworthy. – R.C. Sproul

In this upcoming study, our hope and prayers are that, as you learn about the promises God has made to you, you will learn to trust Him more. And as you learn to trust Him more, you will grow in your faith as you begin to “Walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

It can be hard to trust God when we don’t see Him. Through our study, we pray you will be able to see the faithfulness of God a little more clearly as you begin to study His Word and the promises He has for you.

During this study, we will focus on how God promises to: be with you, guide you, help you, and sustain you.

Never forget dear friend, God is holy and, because He is, He keeps His promises. He is the ultimate Promise Keeper.

God’s promises are unfailing, unchanging, and true.

“But those who hope in the Lord

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

We know life can be hard. We all walk through different storms in our lives and need a firm foundation to stand on when the waves of discouragement, broken promises, and heartache begin to beat against us. That’s why we need to turn to the Rock of Ages to find our strength. That’s why we need to turn to His promises to sustain us and help us keep our footing. Though storms may come, we do not have to be undone by them. Our hope is in Jesus and the promises He has made to us. No matter what we are facing, we know through God’s Word that we are not facing it alone. God is with us.
