One of the biggest struggles that I have had during my Christian walk is accepting the truth that God’s love for me is unconditional. It is so difficult for me to comprehend the depths that God would go to have an intimate relationship with me.
Jesus, my Messiah, willingly and selflessly endured undeserved, torturous suffering so that I could be made right with Him. My soul grapples with the fact that every single time I fail Him, God’s love for me never changes. What a confounding, crazy, wondrous love!
One of the most glorious promises in the entire Bible specifies the immensity of God’s love for His people:
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
In Romans 8, the Apostle Paul laid out concrete reasons why believers can be absolutely secure in God’s love and in His promises. Paul ended the chapter with an important spiritual truth: Nothing has the power to separate a believer from the love of God.
No matter what a believer suffers or endures, no matter how a believer stumbles and fails, God’s love for His people never changes.
Salvation is God’s plan to redeem His people and have an intimate relationship with them. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus entail God’s divine work. God’s plan of salvation will never fail because He cannot fail.
Jesus, who died for us, now lives for us! Jesus, at this very moment, is loving us, praying for us, and speaking to God about us. Jesus is at the right hand of God ensuring that our every moment, our every mistake, our every failure is still always covered by His blood.
“But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8).
God’s love is an absolute reflection of who He is. God’s love is perfect, infinite, unending, overflowing, and unconditional. His love is fearless, constant, reliable, dependable, irrevocable, and unwavering. God’s love is the strongest, most powerful force throughout eternity. God’s love defies all logic, all knowledge, and all physical and spiritual barriers. God’s love is solely motivated by who He is, not by who we are.
God’s promise of His never-failing and never-ending love because of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection is our identity and our assurance. Our confidence is anchored in God’s absolute love for us.
When I struggle, I remember that God is clinging to me tightly and won’t ever let me go. When I am confident in God’s love for me, I don’t need to fear the future. God’s love is an absolute promise. There is nothing that I can do to make God love me any more or any less.
Nothing can separate believers from the amazing love of God in Jesus! How does this promise of God’s unconditional love bring you comfort and peace?

Oh Terria, thanks for sharing this beautiful post on God’s wondrous love that will never leave us. I too struggle with this thought, yet, here He is, reminding me through His messages, He loves me! He always has, He always will. No, I am NOT worthy of His great unchanging faithful love, but He gives it anyway! How blessed our we sister!!
Monica, it is times like these when I need to be reminded of God’s merciful unfailing love. I’m so glad this encouraged you, because right now, during these trying times, it encourages me as well! ❤️
With this current global virus and even closure of churches can’t separate us from our Savior. I know He lives within us and we in Him.
