I am the Lord your God
from the land of Egypt;
I will again make you dwell in tents,
as in the days of the appointed feast. – Hosea 12:9
Though Israel enjoyed financial prosperity and fine homes, God’s judgment would bring them into exile and into a life in humble tents again. This judgment is certain because God had spoken through the prophets, yet they did not listen.
“Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) The people of Israel had confidence in their wealth, in their financial success and didn´t want to listen to Hosea. Ultimately, they didn´t want to hear God. But God had an unexpected turn in their future: they would go back to dwell in tents. They would have to leave behind all their earthly possessions and start over.
The good news is that, even though we can lose everything we have, we can never lose God. And we have the assurance that there´s nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate us from His love.
I praise You, Father, for I am certain that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from Your love, Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
Amen. Blessed to be reminded that despite it all, God will love me , He will call me back and humble me
God really does love us, and his always will. I think this is a hard concept for us to grasp sometimes because we are human and can’t have the perspective He can, but how comforting is it to know we always have someone on our side who knows us perfectly. When Christ washes the apostles feet it is an ultimate act of love for his friends and fellow followers of God, some apostles are shocked that Christ, the son of God, would wash their feet, I’m sure they felt unworthy. But Christ doesn’t care if we are unworthy, He loves us all unconditionally and without bias. His love truly is a blessing.
I never got love from GOD . Are you sure GOD loves us I think GOD is cruel.after my finger was ripped off my body or 9 years ago when I was set on fire or my brother committing suicide or not having a father, Are you sure GOD loves us… I’ve seen nothing but cruelty sinse I was a kid…
Richard I am very sorry. God does love us. He allow us freedom of choice. Which allows sin into our world. Our sin mixed with everyone else’s sin cause awful things to happen to good people. He is waiting with open arms, run into them. He will see you through your trails. He doesn’t remove them but he does help you through.
