My name is Ngun from Myanmar. I am a member of the LGG Myanmar translation team. Since our team engages in literature ministry in Myanmar, especially translating English books into Burmese, we are blessed in many ways. We read the Bible together, study together, and grow together.
Before I read these materials, I felt like I was alone because most of my coworkers are men. It was my prayer that I could find some women with whom I could share my understanding of the Bible. I really wanted to talk about my deep feelings about God with ladies who were feeling the same way, but it was not possible because my neighbors are Buddhists and I am a leader in my home church.
When we were invited to translate LGG materials into Burmese, I thought this would just be another translation project. But it surprised me because LGG materials are totally for women like me who are always busy and cannot find a time to read the Bible. These materials help me focus more on the Word of God, interpret the Bible deeply, and see our situations in the light of God’s Word. Now I am studying these materials with some other women from my community. I help them to read the Bible for themselves by using LGG materials. At first, it was a challenge for us because we do not try to interpret the Bible from women’s feeling, but when we read the Bible together, every word of God has meaning for us. And we choose to be brave in our society.
All these materials are really helpful for us because it is easy to study together, read the Bible together, and apply in our life. We also like the recipes because they are different from what we usually make, and we love to cook together, try the recipes (with some of our own twists), and we taste new food whenever we are together.
