The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. – Psalm 9:16
The problem among the people and leaders of Israel was they forgot that the LORD saw and remembered their sin. And we can find ourselves doing the same thing. Instead of confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness, we forget about them. But God doesn´t. He is always eager to forgive us, yes. But we can´t forget we have a Holy God who can´t stand sin in His presence.
God was willing to heal Israel from their sin and its effects, but not as long as they acted as if He did not see what they were doing.
Psalm 9:16 says, “The wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.” How many times do we do the wrong thing and then blame God for the disasters in our life? How many sins do we forget to confess because we are too used to have them in our lives? God will forgive our sins, but we have to repent and ask for His forgiveness.
Heavenly Father, please forgive me. Forgive my sin. Forgive me for getting so used to that sin in my life that I neglect to confess it. Amen.
