And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts… – 2 Peter 1:19
The Bible is neither a collection of fairy tales nor a compilation of men’s creation. The Bible is God’s creation breathed out through men. God used men as pens to write on human history and to seal His children with a love letter of an eternal future.
Until our eternal future is realized, we have our Morning Star in Jesus to bring our need for Him to light. He awakens us from the dead and brightens the path that leads to Him.
Holy Father, thank you for giving us life through your Son. Your gift of Jesus as a morning star means He shines in the darkest moments, a beacon of hope just before daybreak. We know when the world peaks in its bleakness, Jesus will return and burst forth in all His glory!

Praising God for being my Morning Star everyday! We are living in dark times… every time I sit down to hear the news, I pray over people, families, injustices, chaos, tragedies, cities, countries! I’ve been blessed for having placed my HOPE in Jesus.
Amen, Adriana! I am praising Him with you! I’m so glad we have Jesus to guide us and give us light in this dark world. Blessings to you today, friend!
Yes we are living in dark times and for me sometimes its hard to get up and face the day with so much negativity around us, co-workers gossiping, not working as a team, drivers being rude on the road, the only safe place I feel is at home, but we must not grow weary and I am so thankful for Love God Greatly studies for lifting my spirits up. I am so looking forward to one day being with all my sisters in heaven. Thank you JESUS.
Amen! Eloise you are so right. I love what you said about we must not grow weary! I am very thankful for these studies as well. God bless you and thank you for being with us today.
Such an encouraging devotion! Yes, those last hours of night can be the darkest. I’ve been struggling with emotional pain…the effects of sleeplessness and anxiety are overwhelming at 5:00am. What a blessed reminder that His light shines brightest before the dawn. I am not alone…His Word and presence dispell my fears, bring peace to my mind and body, renew my hope and joy. I love you Jesus…I can embrace a new day because your light sustained me when I could not “see!”
Margaret,
I’m sorry that you have been struggling with the emotional pain of sleeplessness and anxiety. I am praying for you now. And yes this was a very encouraging devotional! I am also praising God with you that we are not alone! God bless you and thank you for being with us today.
Margaret,
I’m right there with you sister. Sleep does not come easy and I have to fight for peace in the middle of the night. Today’s verses and the study were so encouraging for me, because joy DOES come in the morning. In the midst of my darkness, a new day dawns and THE morning star rises in my heart as I hold onto His words!!!
I will continue to give glory to God and I will continue to hold on and never let go believing that He not only heals bodies and souls, but broken hearts!
I don’t think it is a coincidence that some form of God’s name is used in this passage more than once. The CJB says his name 10 times; 10 different ways. There is only one Word that is true. When I listen to Satan’s lies I cannot see the light and true peace escapes me. Thank God for his Morning Star that shines in this dark murky world. I can always find comfort in him.
