This is what I know: God is good even when life is hard.

If I were to write the script of my life these past few weeks, it would be a mixture of comedy, drama & heartache. Even in the midst of the craziness, I know God is with me, helping me, and that is enough. In these last few weeks, I’ve learned to have greater compassion for those whose futures are uncertain due to the circumstances in their lives. I’ve learned to pray my heart out and then move forward in the direction God is leading. I’ve learned to trust at a deeper level and let some things go that are out of my control and not give in to fear. I don’t know my future or the future of my loved ones here on earth, but I do know our destiny. I know heaven is real and God is love. Focusing on those two simple truths has helped me not give in to fear and strengthened me in my faith. I know my salvation is secure because of Jesus.⠀

These next few weeks are going to be hard for my family, especially for my husband who is an ER doctor. We’re praying for everyone on the frontlines of this pandemic. We know God is with us. I know He loves us. He promises in Deuteronomy 31:6 that He will never leave us. He calls us to be strong & courageous no matter what we face in the days ahead. ⠀

I don’t want an easy life, I want a holy life. If heartbreak, pain, and difficulty mold me more into His image, so be it. I want more of Jesus and less of this world. ⠀

Even though these last few weeks have been hard, they have also been good. I’ve seen God’s hand move in significant ways in my life. I’ve enjoyed having less distractions, less activities, and less busyness and more walks to the park with my girls, more slower moments with my parents, and more meaningful conversations with my friends. ⠀

I’m looking forward to this COVID-19 pandemic being over, but I don’t want my life to go back to how it used to be. I’ve allowed the idol of busyness to rob me of too much these past few years. I know my days are numbered and I want to spend them wisely. This pandemic has helped me see what is truly important in life and for that, I’m thankful.
