Psalm 37:7-8

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

SOAP – Psalm 37:7-8
David writes this psalm urging believers to remain patient and wait for God to elevate them. The inclination is to become frustrated and envious of those who attain and achieve those things we desire in our lives. However, we must trust that God will provide when it is in His will and in His timing. Until then, we must remain joyful, free from anger and jealousy, trusting that our Lord is in control.

What circumstance is causing you to experience doubt, jealousy, and anger? Will you begin today to pray for God to calm your heart and trust Him with your provision?

Father God, You are my Good Shepherd. You meet every single one of my needs. Lord, help me to remain patient and calm as I wait on You. Help me to trust in Your timing and Your provision for me. Teach me to surrender my will to Yours, so that I may live out my days in peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
