When Maria first connected with our Love God Greatly Portuguese branch, she was amazed by their passion for making God’s Word accessible to women across Portugal. In a country where Christianity often feels foreign and evangelical resources are scarce, these women are creating a movement—one Bible study at a time.
For years, Maria had been leading Bible studies, searching for solid discipleship resources in European Portuguese. When she discovered Love God Greatly, she knew it could fill a deep need. But as she gathered women to study, she realized something powerful.

Their weekly gatherings are a place of deep encouragement. Whether meeting in person or over Zoom, these women share what they’ve learned, pray together, and even sing in worship. “We pray at the beginning to quiet our hearts,” Maria shared. “Sometimes, we stop after each discussion point to ask God to help us apply His Word.”
One of the most beautiful aspects of these studies is the diversity of women it brings together from teenagers to women in their forties, all learning side by side. Their dream? To see more churches in Portugal equipped with resources in their own language.
