But he said to me, ‘My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.
Into the Text
Have you ever felt completely unqualified for what God is calling you to do? I know I have.
Maybe you feel like your past disqualifies you, or your weaknesses are just too many. Maybe you feel like you’re not smart enough, strong enough, brave enough—to do what God is asking of you. Maybe, deep down, you’ve convinced yourself that God picked the wrong person. If so, you’re in good company. Moses felt that way too.
When God called Moses to lead His people, Moses immediately listed all the reasons why he wasn’t qualified for the job. He focused on what he lacked: his speech, his confidence, his ability to lead. But God didn’t validate those fears or erase them—He simply said, “I will be with you” (Exod 3:12).
That’s the difference.
God’s calling on your life is never about your qualifications. It’s about His.
God isn’t looking for the most impressive. He’s looking for the most surrendered. He’s not after performance; He’s after your heart. His grace isn’t just enough to forgive your past—it’s enough to empower you in the present. His power shows up best in your weaknesses, not in spite of them.
You see, we often think God needs our strength, but He’s after our surrender. He delights in using the weak to display His power because then it’s unmistakably Him. His grace isn’t a crutch—it’s the power source. The very places you feel insufficient are often where His strength will shine the brightest.
And this takes wisdom, doesn’t it? Wisdom to silence the voice of fear. Wisdom to believe that God’s presence is more than enough for whatever He’s called you to. And wisdom to stop waiting until we feel “ready” and simply say yes—trusting that He’ll equip us along the way.
Sweet friend, you may not feel qualified—but you are chosen. And where God calls you, He will meet you. He doesn’t need perfection—He simply wants your yes.
So today, take one faithful step forward. Not because you feel strong but because your Savior is. His grace is more than enough.
