Just as you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones form in the womb of a pregnant woman, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

Into the Text

There have been seasons in my life when, no matter how much I prayed, sought God, or planned, the answers just didn’t come. Nothing seemed to move forward despite my best efforts.

I’d search God’s Word for direction, pour out my heart in prayer, trust Him when it didn’t make sense, repent—and still the silence lingered. It’s in these difficult moments, when the way forward felt hidden, that I sensed my faith being quietly tested. I’ve come to call these different times in my life my Job seasons. And if you’ve ever found yourself asking, “God, are You really working in this? Are you really hearing my prayers?”, please know you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.

And yet, it’s often in these hard seasons that the beauty and power of God’s Word shines the brightest. I love how Ecclesiastes 11 gently reminds us of something incredibly freeing: we don’t have to know the full picture to trust the One who does.

Just like we can’t trace the path of the wind or understand how life forms in the womb, we can’t fully comprehend the work of God. His ways are higher than ours. His wisdom is greater. And while we may not always understand what He is doing, we can always trust who He is. He is our good, good Father. He is our Savior, Redeemer, and Friend. He is omnipresent and omniscient.

Nothing is more powerful than Him.

This is where wisdom and trust meet—where we rest in the truth that God is sovereign, faithful, and good, even when the outcome is still unseen. His Word reminds us that He is always working, always weaving, always near. The absence of clarity is not the absence of God.

So, what do we do when we’re unsure of what to do? We seek His wisdom. We stay faithful to what’s in front of us. We keep sowing good seeds. We keep showing up in prayer. We ask not only for answers—but for the courage to walk by faith when we don’t have all the facts.
