So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.
Into the Text
I’ve clung to this verse these last few years.
Saying yes to God’s calling sounds beautiful … until you’re in the middle of it. Until obedience means long, late nights, unseen sacrifices, and lonely seasons where you wonder if your yes is even making a difference at all. Until you’re giving more than you feel you have in you to give and walking roads of pain and betrayal you never expected. Until the cost feels too personal and too heavy, and your heart begins to whisper…
This is harder than I thought.
And yet, all these years in, I can still say…it is worth it because He is worth it.
Jesus never promised following Him would be easy, but He did promise to walk with us every step of the way. In Luke 14, Jesus gently calls us to count the cost of following Him (see vv. 27–30).
So if the cost feels especially hard in this season—whether it’s unseen sacrifices, quiet acts of obedience, or relationships that have shifted because of your yes—take heart. God sees it all. Not one tear, one surrender, or one step of faith has gone unnoticed.
And yet, I know how real the struggle in surrender can be. It’s a daily, often quiet choosing to say, “Not my way, Lord, but Yours.” Many times, that surrender is hidden—offered in the dark when no one else sees.
But God sees.
He sees every unseen act of faithfulness, every quiet yes, every time you lay down your will in trust. And in Galatians 6:9, He lovingly reminds us not to grow weary in doing good because the harvest is coming. In His time. In His way. And the fruit He brings forth will be worth every seed sown in faith.
So, if you’re in the middle of the work and wondering if it’s making a difference—hear this: God is using your obedience. He is growing something beautiful through every sacrifice, and He will be faithful to complete what He’s begun in you.
So, let His wisdom continue to guide you. Let His strength carry you. And keep saying yes, even when the calling feels costly—because He is always worth it. I promise.
