“Come, let’s consider your options,” says the LORD. “Though your sins have stained you like the color red, you can become white like snow; though they are as easy to see as the color scarlet, you can become white like wool.”
Isaiah 1:18
Into the Text
Sin always leaves a stain. It weighs us down, burdens our hearts, and hinders our growth as a Christian.
Maybe today you feel the weight of your sins. Maybe there are things you know God is asking you to give up and stop doing, but you feel unable to.
But God doesn’t push us away. He draws near. He doesn’t pretend our sin isn’t serious, but He offers a solution and extends an invitation of grace, giving us what we don’t deserve – forgiveness.
He invites us to confess our sin to Him, to release control of it, to give it up, and to trust Him.
Through the prophet Isaiah, God paints an unforgettable picture of forgiveness, writing, “Though your sins have stained you like the color red, you can become white like snow.” It’s not a partial cleaning. It’s total, complete, and permanent. When God forgives, He doesn’t leave behind a trace. He washes us fully.
The blood of Jesus is enough to wash away even the deepest, darkest stains. His sacrifice didn’t just cover sin. It removed it. You can place it in Jesus’ hands and let it go. Embrace His forgiveness and walk forward in freedom.
God’s invitation still stands: Come. Come with your past, your guilt, your struggles. He’s asking you to trust Him to do what only He can do: wash you, make you new, and give you the power to fight sin.
Prayer
Lord, thank you that sin is not the end of my story. Thank you for washing me clean, making me new, and covering me in grace. Help me to live in the freedom and joy of your forgiveness. Amen.
