“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.”

Titus 2:11-14

Into the Text

As we close this Advent journey, we return to the very heart of the season: hope.

Not a vague, wishful kind of hope. Not a temporary hope wrapped in circumstances. But a blessed hope—secure, promised, and shining bright on the horizon.

This unshakeable, never-ending, always and forever hope has a name: Jesus.

The grace of God has appeared in the person of Jesus. He came near to us in the manger, walked to the cross, rose from the grave, and will one day appear again. This time in full glory. We don’t just look back at what Jesus has done. We look forward to what He will do.

We let grace shape us. We let hope steady us. We live in faith. We remain eager to do good because He has already given us His love. We do His work by His power, out of love for Him and for others.

Sweet friend, don’t let this world distract you but make sure you live for what is of eternal value. Living upright and godly lives in this age will not necessarily make us popular, and we may face difficulties because of our convictions and choices. But Jesus is coming.

Until then, we live with eyes lifted and hearts surrendered. Grace has appeared. Glory is coming.

And one day soon, we will see Him face to face.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for being my blessed hope. Thank you for coming, saving us, and promising to come again. Help me to live in the in-between with purpose, joy, and a heart anchored in you. Amen.
