We all know shoes are an essential piece to every outfit. If our shoes are not the right style or right fit, if they are too tight or too loose, they can make or break our day, whether that is heading out for a quick walk, a comfy grocery run, or a professional board meeting.
Roman soldiers also knew the importance of wearing the right shoes for battle. They wore sandals studded with nails on the bottom of their shoes. This helped them stand firm in their battles, like our modern cleats.
God, in His love, equips us with an unwavering foundation in the belt of truth. He clothes us in His righteousness through our breastplate of righteousness. And He gives us shoes that provide peace, even when everything else around us is crumbling. It’s amazing what a good pair of shoes can do!
When we choose to stand in the shoes God has lovingly fitted for us, we can have confidence that He is with us no matter what comes our way. This peace provides us with the strength to stand firm in the face of opposition. It is the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ, and it brings peace to our hearts and minds, even in the midst of turmoil and uncertainty.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that no matter what goes on in my life, You have already given me the peace that I need. Thank You for providing peace when I feel like I cannot get out of the raging storm. Amen.
