Treasuring God’s wisdom over the world’s wisdom is another way we choose to live lives set apart. God’s wisdom is like a precious treasure, and He wants us to pursue it with all our hearts. When we love wisdom, it will guard us, protect us, and keep us on the right path. But how do we acquire wisdom? We must start by seeking it through God’s Word. Reading and meditating on Scripture helps us gain wisdom and insight for our daily lives.
As you daily read the Bible, ask God to reveal His wisdom to you and help you apply it to your life. We know from James 1:5 that God is generous in giving us His wisdom when we ask, so if you find yourself not understanding or needing more insight into what you are reading, be honest with God and ask Him for the understanding you need. Growing in wisdom is a journey, so don’t get discouraged. As your relationship with God deepens, so will your wisdom because you will come to treasure it and see the value of it in your life.
When we choose to live set apart and walk in wisdom, we experience the joy and peace that comes from a life aligned with God’s purpose. We come to treasure the wisdom God so generously gives and, as we do that, we become better equipped to face life’s challenges with grace and courage.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wisdom it offers. Please help us to seek Your wisdom daily and apply it to our lives. Amen.
