“Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.”
“Above all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”
Into the Text
God is a speaking God. He is not one who is distant and mysterious, but He has revealed Himself through the Bible.
The Bible is not merely a collection of human writings but the very Word of God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God used over 40 different authors across three continents and in a span of 1,500 years to create the Bible. From beginning to end, the story of Scripture reveals God’s rescue plan through Jesus. It highlights God’s power and love to create humanity and redeem His people through his Son in order that we may be restored to a right relationship with Him.
Since the words of Scripture are the very words of God, every word in the Bible carries God’s authority and truth. God’s Word exposes our inner thoughts and attitudes, revealing sin and pointing us to the path of righteousness (Hebrews 4:12). It’s through Scripture that we receive spiritual nourishment and guidance for our daily lives.
As believers, we are called to immerse ourselves in God’s Word. It is through reading, studying, meditating on, and memorizing Scripture that we open our hearts to hear God’s voice. The Bible reveals God’s character, His promises, and His plan for our lives, drawing us into a deeper relationship with Him.
As we align our lives with biblical truths, we experience the joy and peace that come from walking in obedience to God. It is all about His Son, who is the reason we should rejoice.
