“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross–through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”
Colossians 1:19-20
Into the Text
Jesus is not merely a good teacher, a wise leader, or a prophet. He is the image of the invisible God. The Creator of all things. The One who holds everything together, even when it feels like life is falling apart.
And yet, this mighty, preeminent, holy Savior chose the cross.
Why? To reconcile us to God.
Because of sin, we were once separated and cut off from the very One we were created for. But Jesus came to bridge that gap. He didn’t just bring peace. He became our peace. Through His blood, shed on the cross, He made a way for us to be brought near again.
Reconciliation isn’t just about forgiveness. It’s about restoration, relationship, and closeness. Jesus doesn’t just remove the barrier of sin; He invites us back into the presence of God, fully accepted, fully loved, and at peace.
It’s easy to forget this when we feel distant, dirty, or unworthy. But friend, you don’t have to work your way back to God. Jesus already made the way back to God through His sacrifice. He reconciled you through His blood. Now you are free to live in the joy and peace of being His.
You are not far off.
You are not unwanted.
You are not disqualified.
Because of Jesus, you are brought near. You are known. You are held together by Him, through Him, and for Him.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for reconciling me to the Father through Your blood. Help me live each day in the confidence and peace of being fully Yours. Amen.
