You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God, because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God.

2 Corinthians 9:11-12

Into the Text

Sweet sister,

We serve a generous God. When we give, whether it’s our time, resources, or love, we mirror His kindness, grace, and provision to a watching world. It is God’s will for our lives to show generosity so that those receiving and those observing can better understand who God is and what He is like. We must be intentional in our generosity so that our children better understand God’s desire behind our generosity and His generous heart.

We know that everything we have is a gift from God. It is ultimately His. As such, we are stewards of His good gifts. When we joyfully and selflessly give, we teach them about God’s love in a tangible, powerful way. It’s about seeing the needs and desires of others and choosing to act, to bless, to comfort – not out of obligation but out of the overflow of the love God has poured into our hearts.

Every good gift is from God (James 1:17). At His very heart, God is a giver who enjoys giving and blessing His children. As we receive from God, we give to others. This cycle of giving continues, spreading joy, meeting needs, and bringing glory to God. Each act of generosity is like a seed planted, which can grow into a beautiful tree of thanksgiving and blessing in someone’s life.

So, sweet sister, let’s choose to be generous. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus in a world that desperately needs His touch. Let’s show our children what it means to live out God’s love in practical, everyday ways and teach them how we can never out-give God.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank You for Your incredible generosity towards me. Help me to hold all things loosely in my hands, ready to share with others. May my life reflect Your generous heart, teaching those around me, especially my children, the joy and blessing of giving. Amen.

Loving Generosity
