Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.
Into the Text
I know, as women, we all wear many hats and juggle countless responsibilities. Our days are filled with moments that require love and compassion, both for ourselves and others, making it hard to love with a genuine heart, especially when we feel overwhelmed, hurt, or unappreciated.
In these moments, we need to remember that our capacity to genuinely love others comes from God and not us. God is the source of all love, and when we allow His love to flow through us, we can love others with our whole heart, even when it’s difficult, even when we don’t feel like it.
On those days when loving others feels hard, start by focusing on the small acts of love that can make a significant impact. Send an encouraging text to a friend who is going through a tough time. Offer to help a neighbor with their groceries. Surprise your spouse or family member with a small act of kindness. It’s in these everyday moments that we can show our love for others and let God’s love shine through us.
But even more important than these outward acts is the heart behind them. If you find yourself struggling to love others, ask God to pour some of His infinite love into your heart. He will enable you to love those around you with sincerity and devotion. When we allow God’s love to fill our hearts, it will naturally overflow into our relationships, making it easier to honor others above ourselves.
And realize, sweet friend, that you are not alone on this journey. Lean on God’s grace. It is a process for each of us. We all struggle to love others with our whole hearts sometimes, but the beautiful truth is that we have a loving God who is always with us, always ready to guide and empower us. Today, I pray that you embrace His love for you, and that love overflows into the lives of those around you.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, help me to love others the way you call me to. Give me the love I need to give to others. Help me to love others well, especially on the days when I don’t feel like I have any more love to give. Help me to be generous with the love that You give me and honor others as I strive to honor You with my life.
