Jesus said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Into the Text
Sweet sister,
We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind – in short, with our whole lives! Not only that, we are also called to love our neighbor as ourselves – and this includes our spouse and children. We are called to love them with a love that is patient and kind, that bears all things and hopes all things. This love transforms our daily tasks into acts of worship to God and acts of selfless service to our families.
As we navigate the joys and challenges of motherhood, let’s remember that our ability to love our children deeply and unconditionally comes from God. He fills us with His love so that we can be vessels of that love in our homes.
When we embrace each day with a heart committed to loving God fully, it changes our whole day and eventually, the way we live our lives. When we choose to love God with all our hearts, souls, and minds, His love can’t help but overflow into the lives of our children, impacting them and creating an atmosphere of warmth, acceptance, and grace in our homes. When we love God, we will love our children too, which in turn will make it much easier for them to love God for themselves.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for the incredible privilege of being a mom. Help me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Let that love overflow into the lives of my children. Teach me to reflect Your love in every aspect of my motherhood. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
