Living a Life of Grace

For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

Hebrews 4:15-16

Into the Text

Sweet sister,

I love these verses because they show us that we don’t have to be perfect to approach Jesus. He understands our weaknesses, our struggles, and our unending temptations. Motherhood is such a blessing, but it can also be hard. Jesus understands. Though Jesus never sinned, He did get frustrated with His disciples from time to time.

We must remember as mothers that God is very patient with our imperfections. And while He is sanctifying us, His endless grace forgives us for our shortcomings, our weaknesses, and our moments of doubt. We can boldly come to Him through prayer where we will be met with mercy and help through our Savior.

As we serve Him and raise our children, we need to remember that grace is the key. Motherhood is about obedience, surrender, and service. It is about embracing God’s mercy and extending that same mercy to our children. They are not perfect, just as we are not perfect.

When our children understand that their relationship with God isn’t based on their perfect behavior, but on His perfect love, it changes everything.

So sweet sisters, in all our imperfection, let’s lean into God’s grace. Let’s approach His throne with confidence, knowing that He will forgive us. Let’s also continue to ask Him for help in our specific temptations and struggles so that we may overcome our sin.

Let’s live out this grace in our homes, showing our children that they are loved not because they are perfect, but because they are precious in His sight.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your grace. Help me to live a life that reflects Your grace in every word and action. Help me to extend grace to my family, teaching my children about Your love, forgiveness, and mercy. Amen.
