Into the Text
Can you imagine a world where there is no more pain, hurting, or tears, and all will be made new with Jesus reigning over all? This is the future reality the Bible paints for us.
The book of Revelation is one characterized by mystery, hope, and lots of questions. Yet, there are three things we can know for certain. Jesus is coming back. He will defeat Satan and His enemies. He will rule as the perfect king forever.
What do the end times have to do with how we live today? We don’t know when Jesus is coming back, but we know that it will be soon. We are to be prepared and live with eternity in mind.
By doing this, we don’t have to live in fear about where we’re headed. For those who have trusted in Jesus, we know that this world is not all there is. We will one day be glorified and spend eternity with our Savior.
The other reality of the end times is that those who have not trusted in Jesus will spend eternity apart from Him in hell. This is why we are called to share the good news of hope with all people.
The Rescuer who was promised at the very beginning will completely crush the head of the serpent once and for all. We know the end of the story, and Jesus is the victor.
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for the truth that you are coming back. I pray that I can live with eternity in view and have a renewed fervor to share the gospel with those around me. Amen.
