For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.
Into the Text
Sweet sister,
God has created each of your children with the exact personality and skills needed to play their part in the body of Christ. And you know what? You are just the mom that they need to help them to grow and utilize their gifts.
In this generation, more than ever, our children need encouragement to live obediently and faithfully in the calling God has placed on their lives. Their obedience matters. Just like in a physical body, every part, every member, is essential and valuable. We need to help them see that they are a part of a beautiful, global team – the Body of Christ – and how they function on the team matters.
They need to understand that they are not only cherished individuals but also members of a collective body. Each one’s contribution, no matter how small it may seem, is vital. No one’s work is more important than another’s. We need Christians everywhere to live for God’s glory in all areas of life and to have a “teamwork” mindset. As they grow and find their place in this body, they’ll learn the importance of unity and mutual support in Christ.
So encourage them to embrace their role, to use their gifts, and to see the beauty in working alongside others to achieve God’s greater purpose. In doing so, they will not only find their place in the body of Christ but will also experience the joy of belonging and contributing to something far greater than themselves.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, help me to guide my children in understanding their valuable place in Your body. Teach them to use their gifts and talents to glorify You and to work in harmony with others, as part of Your greater plan. Amen.
