“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.”
“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children. And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ)—if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.”
Into the Text
When we embrace faith in Jesus Christ, He bestows upon us the Holy Spirit, who resides within us. This profound gift signifies a permanent union with Jesus, as He and the Holy Spirit are one as part of the Triune God.
The indwelling Holy Spirit brings transformation. Sin’s grip no longer ensnares us; instead, our new hearts are liberated and revitalized in Christ. Our bodies become sanctuaries for God’s glory, a testimony to His redemptive work within us.
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit’s presence is the seal of our adoption into God’s family. Nobody and nothing can snatch us out of God’s hands. This does not mean that we have license to live however we see fit. Rather, our hearts are enabled to walk according to God’s way with the help of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling power.
The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and gradually transforms us into the likeness of Christ while also giving us unique gifts to glorify God and lead others to Jesus.
For those who may be wrestling with the assurance of their salvation or doubting their reconciliation with God, ask yourself this question: Do you trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and believe that He has reconciled you with God? Then be assured that you have been sealed by the Spirit with an unbreakable seal. You are secure in Christ, a constant reminder of His unfailing love and presence.

Dear Jesus, thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling within me. Help me live with the assurance of your presence and be continually transformed by your Spirit. In your name, Amen.
