“For the Lord promotes justice, and never abandons his faithful followers. They are permanently secure, but the children of the wicked are wiped out.“
Into the Text
There are moments in life when we may feel forgotten or overlooked, especially when we see injustice all around us. But Psalm 37:28 reminds us of a beautiful truth—God is just, and He will never forsake His children. Even when we don’t see immediate results or resolution, we can trust that God is at work, and His justice will prevail.
In the story of Esther, Haman’s evil schemes were exposed, and he faced the consequences of his wickedness. But what stands out even more is how God’s hand of protection was over Esther and the Jewish people the entire time. Even when it seemed like all hope was lost, God was working behind the scenes, ensuring their safety and deliverance.
Sweet friend, when we face moments of uncertainty or injustice, we can take comfort in knowing that we are never forgotten. God sees, God knows, and He is faithful to preserve His people. As the Watoto Children’s Choir sings, “I am not forgotten, never forsaken…”—these words ring true for each of us. We serve a God who loves justice, and in His perfect timing, He will make all things right.
Whatever injustice or difficulty you may be facing today, place it in God’s hands. His love and care for you is unwavering, and He will fight on your behalf. We may not always see it in the moment, but we can rest in the promise that He will not forsake us.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank you for being a God of justice and for never abandoning your children. Help me to trust that you are at work, even when I cannot see it. I place my burdens and concerns in your hands, knowing that you will bring justice in your time. Thank you for always looking after me. Amen.
