God Has the Final Word

The Lord has worked everything for his own ends – even the wicked for the day of disaster.

Proverbs 16:4

Into the Text

Haman’s schemes had finally reached their end, and his evil plans crumbled in the face of God’s justice. Through this, we see a powerful reminder of God’s sovereignty. Though wickedness may seem to flourish for a time, nothing escapes God’s watchful eye. He is fully aware of the evil that exists in the world and in the hearts of people, but even in this, God is still at work.

We often wonder why evil persists. Why does God allow such darkness in the world? Proverbs 16:4 reminds us that everything has a purpose, even the actions of the wicked. Though it’s hard to comprehend, we can trust that God, in His infinite wisdom, is weaving everything—both good and bad—into His greater plan. He longs for every heart to turn to Him, but He also knows that some, like Haman, will choose rebellion over repentance.

But here’s the good news: God has the final word. There will come a day of reckoning when evil will be fully judged, and God’s justice will prevail. Until that time, we can rest in the assurance that God is working, even when we can’t see it, and that His purposes will always prevail.

Sweet friend, it’s easy to become discouraged by the darkness around us, but don’t lose heart. God is still sovereign, and He is still moving. Let’s trust Him to shine His light through us, even in the midst of this world’s troubles. Our courage, rooted in His truth, is what this world needs to see.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, give me eyes to see your hand at work, even in the midst of evil. Strengthen my heart with your truth, and help me see the world not through human eyes but through the lens of heaven. Give me the courage to be strong and bold, reflecting your light to a world that so desperately needs you. Amen.
