Into the Text
Some people’s burdens are easy to spot, like tears that can’t be hidden or exhaustion that no amount of willpower can push through. Others, though, are harder to see. They lie deep beneath the surface—quiet fears, lingering disappointments, and the constant pressure to hold it all together when you feel like falling apart.
Psalm 55:22 has become a lifeline to me through the years. It is more than just a verse to read, recall or memorize; it has become a comfort to me. A verse that God uses to gently whisper in my mind, reminding me that I don’t have to carry this burden any longer. He is stronger than me and able to take on what I can’t.
But letting go and trusting God can be scary…
Maybe you’ve been there. Maybe you’re there now—afraid to surrender that deep worry or longing because trusting God feels uncertain. In your head, you know He’s faithful, but your heart still wrestles with fear: Will He really come through for me?
God’s wisdom reminds us that surrender isn’t weakness—it’s strength. It takes courage to hand our worries to God, but that courage grows as we spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in community with others who will remind us of His truth.
Giving your burdens to the Lord is not a one-time deal but a daily act of surrender, submission, and trust. He is our Burden Lifter and can be trusted with the weight that wears you down.
