“So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame was in all the land.”– Joshua 6:27
Joshua led the people in exactly what God had commanded them to do. They circled the city once a day for six days, and when the seventh day came, they marched around the city seven times. On the seventh round, the priests blew the trumpets, the people shouted, and the walls of Jericho fell, exactly as God had said. Once the walls fell, the Israelites took Jericho.
This was an important victory. Not only because the Israelites took a highly fortified city like Jericho, but because it made Joshua (and His God) famous in all the land. Imagine how the Canaanites felt when they heard about the walls of Jericho falling and the city being destroyed.
God was with Joshua and He magnified his name in the land. The victory over Jericho was performed in a way that gave all the credit and all the glory to God. God will do great things in our lives. When He does, be sure to give Him the glory.
Dear God, I know that, as You were with Joshua, You are with me today. Help me see You in everything I accomplish and give You glory. I pray that everybody would know that all the wonderful things in my life come from you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
