Devotional: Truth Over Lies W6D4

Thursday – Pray for Discernment

Read: Psalm 25:5; Psalm 119:6
SOAP – Psalm 25:5

Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.- Psalm 25:5

Distinguishing between truth and lies can sometimes seem like driving in the fog.  The road is difficult to navigate when the path is unclear.  Our Heavenly Father wants us to seek Him for clarity.  In Psalm 25, when King David was overwhelmed by his enemies, he prays to God for guidance.  David’s prayer expresses his complete trust in God’s ability to show him the proper path. God’s character is the foundation of his trust.

When we seek the Lord, we will find Him.  He will not allow us to walk in darkness.  We simply must be patient and wait for His guidance.

In what area are you struggling to discern the truth?  Take some time to ask God for discernment.  He is faithful in showing you the way.

Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness.  Even when the path seems unclear, I will trust in You.  I pray You will give me the wisdom to know truth from lies.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
